Severity: wishlist

Currently, administrators who wish to change the startup priority of daemons like ssh need to be modify the stock /etc/init.d script.
start-stop-daemon supports some options like --nicelevel (changing the startup priority).
One suggestion is to include an add'l /etc/default/ssh options similar to SSHD_OPTS= (perhaps SSHD_START_OPTS=)
This could be sourced and included in the start/reload/restart sections of the /etc/init.d/ssh file, before the SSHD_OPTS are included.

IMHO, this would be a great feature for almost any package with an init script and /etc/default file.

I'm a little confused that you reported this problem against
openssh-server 1:4.3p2-2. According to my changelog, this feature has
been present since 1:3.5p1-5, in response to bug #161049.

Cheers,
