This looks like upstream bug
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1131, which is fixed in 4.4.
I'll be uploading 4.6 soon, and will close this bug with that; would you
mind testing with that when it's available and let me know if your
problem still occurs?
