I don't want to create an additional package (I've just got away from
that mess by incorporating Kerberos support into the main openssh
packages), and I'm not sure I particularly want to add a half-megabyte
dependencies to openssh-client itself either.

The only solution I can think of is for somebody to figure out how to
load libopensc using dlopen() rather than requiring it to be linked to
normally; that way I could add smart card support without having to
depend on another substantial library.
