Bug#296811: SSH hanging issues

Adrian, is "machine" the server you are connecting to or is it the
router that does NAT?

If it is the machine where ssh server runs, can someone knowledgeable
explain if there is a way to achieve working config by tuning the NAT
machine only?

If it is the NAT machine (router, firewall), is eth0 the WAN interface
or the local LAN? 

BTW I am able to ssh with linux port of putty (without X11, though) and
scp with winscp over wine. How odd.
