Bug#248133: sshd: access denied: tty 'ssh' is not secure
Package: ssh
Version: 1:3.8p1-3
Hello,
keyboard-interactive/pam gives strange error messages
in syslog:
sshd[5409]: (pam_securetty) access denied: tty 'ssh' is not secure !
It seems, this does only happen, if a password is
requested via PAM. It does not happen with pubkey
authentication, for example.
Strange thing is, that pam_securetty should not even
be involved by pam:
# grep -l securetty /etc/pam.d/*
/etc/pam.d/login
/etc/pam.d/rlogin
/etc/pam.d/rlogin.orig
# grep -i login /etc/ssh/sshd_config
LoginGraceTime 600
PermitRootLogin yes
#UseLogin no
#
sshd_config as well as pam.d/ssh are 1:3.8p1-3 defaults.
common-{account,auth,password,session} are libpam-runtime
0.76-19 defaults.
regards,
Mario
