Package: openssh
Version: 1:2.9p2-1
Severity: serious

openssh fails to build due to a parse error in the libwrap config test,
config.log has:

configure:3172: checking for libwrap
configure:3184: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall   conftest.c -lwrap -lz -lnsl -lutil 1>&5
In file included from configure:3176:
/usr/include/tcpd.h:78: parse error before `FILE'
configure: failed program was:
#line 3174 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"

#include <tcpd.h>
                                        int deny_severity = 0, allow_severity = 0;

int main() {
hosts_access(0);
; return 0; }

The corresponding line in tcpd.h is:

extern char *xgets __P((char *, int, FILE *)); /* fgets() on steroids */

which doesn't look too suspect except in case FILE isn't declared in
sys/cdefs.h Well it isn't. Seems configure.in needs updating.

Note: libwrap0-dev was used for the build. If this can't be reproduced
with libwrap-dev, reversing the order of the two in build-depends would
help.

A realm is an administrative domain. Kerberos realms are usually written in
uppercase and consist of a Internet domain name. Call your realm the same as
your Internet domain name if you do not have strong reasons for not doing so.
It will make life easier for you and everyone else.

If the server for your realm is not named "kerberos" you will have to add a
line to /etc/krb.conf to tell kerberos the name. Also, if your realm name
doesn't match your DNS domain name then you'll have to add an entry to
/etc/krb.realms to tell kerberos about the mapping.

This autobuild problem was fixed over two years ago in libwrap0-dev
version 7.6-8.2. I'm closing it out properly.

Cheers,
