Okay, since this isn’t an emergency I will provide steps for you to try by Monday. Will also share steps with the Debian mailing list. 

Regarding others buying S7-2 systems, you are correct, they are selling fast. Now I understand why ;-) Your friend seems to have the same config that I have s7-2 with 512GB memory. However, I decided to use 256GB of that memory for my arm64 system.
