Hardinfo2 benchmark test for vaious systems (sparc, intel, power)



Not exactly an "Apples to Apples" type of comparison, but such results may be useful to others.  Also, not meant as one machine or operating system is best.  Simply giving others some idea what to expect performance wise. FYI, I enjoy working with these systems and look forward to future fixes that will improve performance/stability even more.  :-)

A) IBM 8284-22A POWER8 (architected), altivec supported
20 cores; 160 threads (two cpus)
Debian Linux 6.16.3+deb14-powerpc64le-64k (ppc64le)

B) Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4
28 cores; 56 threads (two cpus)
Manjaro Linux 6.16.4-2-MANJARO (x86_64)

C) Oracle S7-2
16 cores; 128 threads (two cpus)
Debian Linux 6.17.0-rc4+ (sparc64)

D) Oracle T5140
24 cores; 96 threads (two cpus)
Debian Linux 6.16.3+deb14-sparc64-smp (sparc64)

E) Oracle T5120
16 cores; 64 threads (single cpu)

*Notes:
E1) Didn't test using "Debian Linux 6.16.3+deb14-sparc64-smp (sparc64)" because of a kernel panic.
E2) Didn't use Adrian's updated test kernel.
