Testers with a SPARC T1 (T1000 or T2000) needed
Hello,
we're looking for someone who owns a SPARC machine with a SPARC T1 CPU who
can test a kernel patch fixing memory corruption issues on these machines.
For Debian users, the patched can be tested with the help of this Debian
kernel package which already contains the patch in question:
https://people.debian.org/~glaubitz/sparc64/linux-image-6.12.3-sparc64-smp_6.12.3-1+sparc64_sparc64.deb
If the machine has not a running Linux installation, a test ISO with T2DE
Linux can be found here:
https://dl.t2sde.org/binary/2025/incoming/t2-25.9-sparc64-base-wayland-glibc-gcc-ultrasparc3.iso
For anyone building their own kernel, the patch can be found here:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250826160312.2070-4-kernel@mkarcher.dialup.fu-berlin.de/
In case of a successful test, please reply to the patch mail titled:
"[PATCH 3/4] sparc: fix accurate exception reporting in copy_{from_to}_user for Niagara"
with a "Tested-by: Your Name <your.mail@domain.com>" (filling in your details, of course ;)).
If you're not subscribed to the the sparclinux Linux kernel mailing list, you can reply
to the message by downloading the mbox file following this link:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250826160312.2070-2-kernel@mkarcher.dialup.fu-berlin.de/
Import this file into Thunderbird or any email client of choice, then reply from there.
