Re: Sun Ultra 25 / Debian 12 install/progress

Hi Adrian,

so installed it with the latest image you had posted. It boots into the login but USB is not supported, so only terminal.

What I was feeling is that even 5.16 is very unstable .. a simple apt install openssh-server crashed the machine.

Btw. What is the recommended way of updating the keyring so that I could install some further packages and a desktop? What it be possible to exit to the shell within the installer to update the keyring so that it could use the mirror to get the packages?

Thanks a lot for your support.

Cheers

Iggi

Can you try an older image? I used an image from last year when I installed Debian inside
two SPARC T4-1 LDOMs which I have freshly set up for Debian Ports:

I have seen some issue with most recent kernels on SPARC which is why I have currently booted
one LDOM into kernel 5.16.14.

When you install with the image above, you will be able to boot into kernel 5.16.14 from GRUB.

Note: Due to the expired APT keys in the above image, you should skip the mirror setup during
installation which will fail unless you installed the updated Debian Ports Archive Keyring
package.
