I don't know of any issue with debootstrap, what was the problem?
FWIW, the buildds are regularly updating their build chroots automatically
using debootstrap, so any issues with debootstrap are immediately noticed.
Due to the fact that Debian Ports doesn't support cruft [1] yet, you
might run into a situation from time to time where debootstap doesn't
work. However, that usually sorts out itself automatically after some
hours or days.
