I have uploaded an NMU of this package to DELAYED/7 now to address this
issue. Since the unaligned code is spread across the whole gdisk source,
there is a non-zero chance that the broken alignment can also trigger subtle
bugs on other architectures. The bug is just most visible on sparc64 due to
the strict alignment requirements there.
If you want to fix the bug yourself or upload a new upstream version, feel
free to discard my NMU from the DELAYED queue or let me know when I shall
do it.
