Hi Howard,
i do your recommandations, but i don't find "Busid" to xorg.conf.

The ati chipset on the ultra 5, sometimes need to have their
regerence_clock manually entered in. Your Ultra 5 could require one of
the following options

Option      "reference_clock" "14.318 MHz"
Option      "reference_clock" "28.636 MHz"
Option      "reference_clock" "29.5 MHz"

For my Ultra 5 it used the 14.318 MHz option. So if one does not work,
try another one.

I use setxkbmap in my .xinitrc for the keyboard. I believe there may
be a better place to customize the keyboard, but off-hand I forget.
