Etch : If I boot without specifying console=ttya it does the same thing; hangs at "Booting Linux". It also hangs if I try booting "expert" with console=ttyS0.


Lenny : If I don't specify console=ttya, it boots and then stops as soon as it's said something to the effect of "handing over console [earlyprom0] -> ttyS0". If I specify console=ttya OR console=earlyprom0, it has a kernel panic.

Nothing? Are you sure you should be using "ttya" as the console, I thought
that was a Solaris name? The serial ports under Linux should be ttyS0 etc.
