FW: Pre-install parameters
Hi there
At the OpenBoot prompt it works okay. It doesn't work when trying to boot the latest debian distro. I don't have any sun keyboards, I picked this one out because it had everything PC style. Mayby I should buy some input devices one day, I still have a Enterprise 150 standing around filling up space...
I will the try the mentioned boot options at the next try, thanks for suggesting

No problems booting up with what? Not linux probably...

It sounds to me like a kernel problem where, even though a PS/2 port is used, the kernel keymap is set to a Sun Type keymap.
I would guess that these problems may not exist any more if a 2.6 kernel is used, but I may be wrong. Were you booting with a 2.4 or 2.6 kernel?
Some questions.
- Do you have a keyboard connected to both ports or just the PS/2 port?
- If you have both connected, do both produce input or is one dead after
the boot?
Debian Installer has support for both PS/2 (PC) and Sun keymaps, but the selection for these only happens _after_ the language/country questions are asked.
A possible way to work around this is to preseed the answers for the first few questions on the bootprompt. This is only really possible using the current daily images [1] which install Etch.
Try booting with:
linux debian-installer/locale=nl_NL console-tools/archs=at or
linux debian-installer/locale=en_US console-tools/archs=at (this should work with a 2.4 kernel too)
