Unlucky kernel upgrade on Ultra 5/10

Hello fellow debian-sparc users

I updated to sarge when it was released in june, and now I try to update the kernel to a newer one. I tryed first the 2.6.8 package. But it was impossible after that to use the openvpn package that I used to connect to my workplace ( I got a message like unable to find tun/tap device altough I got the module, maybe the same error as
<long though unsolved thread>

</long though unsolved thread > )

I was not able also to control the speaker volume as I did in 2.4. When I launch Aumix or TKmixer, there is simply no control appearing for "Spkr" I also encountered a couple of times the dreaded "Fast MMU data miss" on boot, however I noticed this only happenened follwing a warm reboot from Solaris. If I make a power off , I never have this error.

I"d like the advice of people from the list before making bug reports.
