Problem usin two LANCE NICs

Hello out there,

I have an Ultra1 with two LANCE ethernet cards (one onboard and ond
additional SBUS card).
When I try to use PPPOE with eth1 (the SBUS card) I get errors like
this:

Apr 26 19:28:40 medusa kernel: IRQ: Trying to share non-PCI bucket.
Apr 26 19:28:40 medusa pppd[372]: Serial connection established.

I cannot get PPPOE to work with this interface.
Amazingly, both NICs do have the same MAC address:

Apr 26 20:00:26 medusa kernel: eth0: LANCE 08:00:20:8f:2b:df
Apr 26 20:00:26 medusa kernel: eth0: using auto-carrier-detection.
Apr 26 20:00:26 medusa kernel: eth1: LANCE 08:00:20:8f:2b:df

The kernal version is 2.4.20. I compiled the kernal myself using
kernel-source-2.4.20_2.4.20-6_all.deb which I downloaded from
ftp.de.debian.org.
The kernal installed with Debian 3.0r1 (2.4.18) showed the same errors.

What can I do to get two LANCE ethernet cards to work?
The system shall become a DSL router.

Many thanks in advance,
Lothar
