XFree86 in Woody on sun4c.

Yesterday I installed XFree86 in Woody on a sun4c.
Xserver configuration was with debconf.

"startx xpdf" fails with these error messages
among the many lines of XFree86.0.log.

(EE) No OS PCI support available
  ...
(EE) xf86OpenSerial: Cannot open device /dev/input/mice
	No such device.
(EE) Generic Mouse: cannot open input device
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "Generic Mouse"

Mouse configuration certainly appears to be the
culprit. Can anyone suggest a repair?

To see XF86Config-4 and XFree86.0.log go to
http://carnot.pathology.ubc.ca/ and scroll
down about a page to "Text Files Available by http."

Thanks for any help, Peter E.
