I've had to have mine < 1.2 MB gzipped to boot with SILO, anything bigger just
fails with the aforementioned error. (Ultra5, silo v1.3.0, kernels: 2.4.21
vanilla, 2.4.21-gentoo-r1, and 2.4.22 vanilla)
