Dear sirs,
I'm still struggling with the titled problem of
having twm, xdm, or any x utility on my sparc10 box not able to start up
and
prompting the error: can't open display "".
I used xhost + and it prompts the same error.
I used to use env DISPLAY=<my machine name with
who command>:0 and so I tried that but the same problem persists.
I used dmesg to see if at boot time stdout or tty
is detected and I found nothing related to the display.
How should I proceed to be able to use the xwindows
utility or xviewer utilities?
I do have xdm, twm, xsession etc. starting up but
all had the same can't open display "" problem.
