Cheetah error on SunFire 280R

Hi,
I'm still trying to get Linux installed on the SunFire 280R as I mentioned in
a previous post:
http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=F103IOI1wvaKHY5UNLW000026a1%40hotmail.com&output=gplain

When I found out the support for the ultraSPARC III+ was 'complete' I when and
downloaded the latest netinst ISO(8/19/2002).

I _was_ able to get the kernel to start booting, however as it was loading I
received the following error:

Kernel panic: Irrecoverable deferred error trap

Press L1-A to return to the boot prom

...then the system would completely freeze.

At first I thought it was related to the hard drive (the drive is a Seagate Cheetah, and it was producing the error after the SCSI subsystem driver loads... :) but as I was looking around I saw mention of patches for Cheetah/Cheetah+ errors in some of the kernel change logs, and now I'm thinking that the error is related to the
processor.
So I thought I'd ask around and find out if there is anything that can be done?

Thanks in advance,
            ~Brian
