Booting Woody on my Ultra 10
Title: Meddelande
Hi
there!
Been searching the
maillists but still cant figure out what I'm doing wrong.
After downloading
both CD-Rom #1 I couldn't boot from it. It searched aftefr a file named
/boot/sparc64.gz and couldn't find any.
Opened up the CD on
my PC and what did I find. A file named /boot/sparc64. With upgraded enthusiasm
I tried to boot again. Now I managed to get the kernel started but it promptly
stop after a few seconds complaining about a missing root.
sigh.
After some searching
in this list I found the netinst.iso file. With it I managed to boot, download
and install. But now I can't boot. Fast Data Access MMU Miss is
says.
What do I do now?
Some of you have said in other messages that a tftp server is a nice approach
but I do not want to go that way. Why can't the netinst.iso install a working
system? Do I have to some magic before it works?
I'm not using the
Solaris Swap area(The very first 512Mb) and I have the Linux partition just
after that. Is that the problem?
I can't be the only
one trying to install woody on a Ultra 10.
