Yes, I've upgraded to woody.
I've already installed xserver-xfree86 and configured it (see
attachment) But when starting X-probeonly the following error message
occurs:
ss5:~# X -probeonly
XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)
Release Date: 11 March 2002
If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/)
Build Operating System: Linux 2.4.18 sparc64 [ELF]
Module Loader present
Markers: (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting,
(++) from command line, (!!) notice, (II) informational,
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Wed Jun 26 22:39:08 2002
(==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/XF86Config-4"
(EE) No OS PCI support available
(EE) Failed to load module "pex5" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "xie" (module does not exist, 0)
ss5:~
Commenting out the modules pex5 and xie has no success. I think the
problem is the missing PCI support :-(
"(EE) No OS PCI support available"
Is it a problem, that XFree 4.2.0 is build on Linux 2.4.18, while I'm
running Linux 2.2.20, cause this is the latest kernel-image package,
that is available for sun4c Architecture.
Maybe downgrade to XFree 4.1.0?
