tftpboot.img failure

I am attempting to net boot a sparcstation 2 (SS2) from an NT box. I
have successfully configured RARP and TFTP servers on the NT box, and
the SS2 has (seemingly) successfully managed to copy the boot image -
tftpboot.img (which I renamed to 'ip-address-in-hex.SUN4C').
When beginning to boot though, the SS2 freezes. Below is a copy of the
output (note that I have a serial connection to the SS2 on ttya):

  ok boot net console=ttya
Boot device: /sbus/le@0,c00000 File and args: console=ttya
  307c00
  Using /dev/ttya as console.
  Booting Linux...

I have attempted using the tftpboot.img file contained in both the woody
and potato distributions.

Interestingly, when I attempted to boot from linux-a.out (also renamed
to 'ip-address-in-hex.SUN4C'), I did make it past the 'Booting Linux...'
message and received the regular slurry of diagnostics - of course I
wasn't able to actually boot the kernel though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brennan
