The bootROM in a Sparc 2 is a regular EPROM, so it's not
'field-programmable' like flashROM's are. You first need to obtain a
replacement EPROM that's blank, then the bootROM firmware image (the v2.9
SS2 firmware might be in my Sun bootROM archive btw) to burn into the
replacement EPROM.

Not all Ultra's needed firmware updates though - only the early ones
needed it to be done. I'm running an Ultra-30 here and the firmware didn't
need updating.
