The hardware acceleration for vertical scrolling in the Creator series is
important, since reading from frame buffer memory is comparatively slow.

The first Creator version (series 1) is faster than any of the cg* boards
on everything except blits. (It doesn't have a general blitter, just
acceleration for scrolling.) So if it seems slow to you, you're missing
some magic somewhere.

Unfortunately, I don't know which bit of magic. :-(

It's also possible that your choice of web browser is contributing to the
problem. When we were testing with Netscape early on, there were some
times we could really tell that it was doing some extra redraws.
