The atomic_dec_and_lock function was only defined when the kernel was
configured for SMP. I am not sure if the problem is fixed in later versions
(2.4.10 did not boot anymore on my sparc). I would recommend trying 2.4.12
instead of 2.4.11 if you are going to give it a try.
