NTP, and NTPdate not working

I can confirm this behavior on ss5 with stock 2.2.19 (just hangs, strace shows, that 
on poll()), and cvs-ed 2.2.20pre2 from vger.samba.org with "visible" errors.
ntpdate 4.0.99g-2 worked fine on this host with 2.2.19-prex (afair).
