xserver-xfree86 for SPARCstation 4
Hi all,
I am just trying to upgrade the Xservser (Xsun exactly) version
3.3.6 to that of versuon 4.0.3 (xserver-xfree86). The installation
program seems to be designed specifically to n intel box, not a Sun !
For the exemple, I was ask about the mose devce and was given sevral
choices but /dev/sunmouse was not listed (this was used in the old
server). Further no question was asked about the keyboard but after
installation I looked at the XF86Config-4 file, I see the line
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
which is obviously not true.
Of course, I correct this file as most as I can, but there
could be something wrong, especially in term of the refresh frequencies
(I don't know what they are). Anyhow, X don't work, but the error
message
FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO: invalid argument
seem to be unrelated to that.
Can any one explain to me how to configure xserver-xfree86 for a Sun
SPARCstation 4, or perhaps this server simply won't work with older
Sun ?
