This is a Meta-FAQ for the Ultralinux project. It is mainly a list of
pointers to more information.

1. What is the Ultralinux project?

Ultralinux is the name given to the port of Linux to the SPARC
family of processors most commonly found in Sun servers, workstations
and clones. The port covers both the 32 and 64bit versions of the
SPARC processor. It is fairly mature and supports the majority of
    SPARC equipment.

2. Where can I find more information about the project?

The best place to start is the Ultralinux home page:
    http://www.ultralinux.org or
    http://www.ultralinux.nl (European mirror)

It has information on News, Mailing Lists, Distributions, etc.
It is also the home of the FAQ maintained by Pieter Krul:

3. Do any distributions support the SPARC architecture?

Yes. Currently Red Hat, Debian, Caldera, Mandrake, SuSE, and
Slackware all support the SPARC in their distributions. For
    more information see http://www.ultralinux.org/dists.html

4. What mailing lists are relevant to the project?

Most distributions have a mailing list specific to SPARC
issues. In addition the main mailing list for the project is
    sparclinux@vger.kernel.org Information about archives and
subscribing to these lists can be found at
