Hi.. I have to pieces of connecting to eachother using a fifo file. I have closed filedescriptor 1, but still select() returns 1. The fifo file is on a NFS disk running sparc/solaris2.5.1. If I compile the same code on a solaris client select will wait as normal. If the fifo file is somewhere on the linux-clients local disk, it will work as normal to. why this?? thanks.. larry
