Had the same problem with my diskless SLC.  Easy fix.  At the 'ok'
prompt type:

setenv sunmon-compat? false

Apparently the problem is an interaction between the compatibility mode (old)
and linux.  If you have it in 'new command mode' all the time, you won't
have this problem.
