pci quattro hme card

Hello,

Here is an ultra250 with the following card:
eth1-4: Quattro HME (PCI/CheerIO) 10/100baseT Ethernet DEC 21153 PCI Bridge
eth1: Quattro HME slot 0 (PCI/CheerIO) 10/100baseT Ethernet 08:00:20:b4:90:54
eth2: Quattro HME slot 1 (PCI/CheerIO) 10/100baseT Ethernet 08:00:20:b4:90:55
eth3: Quattro HME slot 2 (PCI/CheerIO) 10/100baseT Ethernet 08:00:20:b4:90:56
eth4: Quattro HME slot 3 (PCI/CheerIO) 10/100baseT Ethernet 08:00:20:b4:90:57

The problem is that it seems it does not work (neither interface). Tcpdump
shows arp requests sent, but nothing else, so nothing is received. The
other end (i386/linux, crossover cable) does not receive anything either.
The kernel is 2.2.13. Any ideas, similar experience, fixes ?
