Hmm... which version of the boot floppies are you using?  FYI, there
are no specifically potato boot floppies yet (it's just a symbolic
link to the potato boot floppies).

The sed error doesn't matter -- I think that's cosmetic, and fixed in
cvs... not sure...

I'm a little confused why you need modules at all.  AFAIK, pretty much
any sparc I've seen will boot/install properly without having to load
any modules.
