I'm currently using the > nis_3.3.1-1 package from slink. That's strange. Search through the debian-sparc archives for "ypbind" to see a description of the problem. To summarize, ypbind hangs if you don't specify the -debug -broadcast options. Apparently, this bug only exists in ypbind-mt-1.3 (the version in nis_3.3.1-1).
