yes. i've  just  installed debian on  my  ipc :)  simply get the  base
install  from nearest debian for  sparc  mirror. then install the rest
you need with apt-get :)

i've  booted mine ipc from  floppy disk and  installed the base system
over nfs from freebsd box :)
