Kernel oops with 2.1.125

This weekend I tried out the kernel-image-2.1.125_2.1.125-1.deb package on
a SS2; it installed itself with no complaints, and ran well enough for
about 40 minutes. Nfs mounts and remote X displays seemed to work fine,
but when I tried an rlogin from one of the other machines on the LAN, it
stopped at the prompt. I found that I couldn't log on to the SS2 locally
anymore, either; su gave me no more prompts for a password. X was still
running, and I was able to shut down the xterms, leave X and return to the
console--but I still couldn't su to reboot properly, and had to do a
Stop-A. Rebooting the old (2.0.35) kernel worked OK.

The syslog had the following oops:

I don't know whether reports about this version of the kernel are still of
any relevance, but it *was* one of our packages.

By the way, the new bootdisks seem to work rather better than the last
set. The drivers disk uncompresses itself only partially, however, but
this time there were quite a number of modules in /lib/modules/2.0.35
which weren't there before. I see that this, too, is already being
improved. Good work!
