I also have the same kind of error the day when I upgraded the package
modutils to 2.1.85-15. Now I regreet having made this upgradded since
I can't find the old version on the net (I don't remember which
version it was, but the change of version was on Aug-15) to downgrade!
Has any debian-developper has looked (or aware of) this problem ?
