compile time of lib-tk (python)

Hi everybody,

I've an installtion of Debian Linux 2.1 ("slink") running on a Sun Sparcstation
SLC. The machine is equipped with 8 megs of ram an has 128 megs swap.
For three days now, the python setup is running. The screen displays the
following:

Setting up pwgen (1-11) ...
Setting up python-base (1.5.1-7) ...
Listing /usr/lib/python1.5 ...
Listing /usr/lib/python1.5/config ...
Listing /usr/lib/python1.5/lib-dynload ...
Listing /usr/lib/python1.5/lib-tk ...

On the other console I can see python running for quite a long time:

  5:50pm up 5 days, 2:26, 2 users, load average: 1.01, 1.02, 1.00
33 processes: 30 sleeping, 3 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 4.3% user, 93.4% system, 0.0% nice, 2.4% idle
Mem: 6152K av, 5800K used, 352K free, 2920K shrd, 336K buff
Swap: 102436K av, 14984K used, 87452K free 2664K cached

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT LIB %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
16527 root 16 0 3100 64 24 R 28 76.2 1.0 2768m python
28509 root 18 0 968 968 756 R 880 12.6 15.7 0:02 top

Now, the following question arises: Is python really running, or has it
crashed?
Can anyone give me a hint on the amount of time, "python-base" needs for
setup?

Thanks a lot!! :-)
