Hi,

the following outputs a different MD5sum:

$ curl --silent http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20110430T000000Z/dists/sid/Release | grep main/source/Sources.gz | head -1
 48f6a45ca478467103b968aa56bc341f  6897367 main/source/Sources.gz
$ curl --silent http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20110430T000000Z/dists/sid/main/source/Sources.gz | md5sum
1df46bb3919975a51ca3bde807cb65b9  -

Unfortunately I do not have time to investigate further.
