Or try ruby1.8 on Wheezy.  Try changing the #! line in the snapshot script to
/usr/bin/ruby1.8.  Then install all the 1.8 dependences needed by the script.

That one will be harder to debug via email.  It's probably an incompatibility between the dbd:pg library for ruby1.9 and the postgres version.

Suggest you switch to ruby1.8 on Wheezy and see if that works.
