resurrecting sgml-base
Hi,
I am trying to get my act together and try and get the long
moribund sgml-base package moving again (if anyone is interested, and
can do more justice to the package than I can, I am willing to offer
it up to them). What are the pending things that need be done?
a) Move to /usr/share/sgml
If we coordinate and move all packages over, en masse, this is
reasonably straigh forward.
b) Build a catalog file from snippets. This shall allow us to create
a sgml.catalog file from conffiles that belong to different
packages reliably. We may have problems with ordering the
conffiles.
c) allow for snippets to point to dtd's and stuff in locations other
than /usr/share/sgml/*. One may kludge it, by expanding path
references in sgml.catalog, or by providing symbolic links under
/usr/share/sgml/ in the appropriate places.
I'll start working on a), and upload the sgml-base and psgml
packages to my home dir on master for people to have a look at. if
Adam does his packages, we can more or less do a).
Comments?
