Yes, upstream helpfully changed the on disk format of the database files with this release. The solution is to rm the old {main,daily}.{inc/,cvd} databases, and let freshclam redownload them. This will, of course, helpfully break any other applications that use those files, like dansguardian, which is why it's not being done automatically. I am tryiong to give people a moment to reassess and maybe move where freshclam and clamd look for databases if they need to, since there are no fixed dansgardian or other packages for stable yet.
