Yes, someone else suggested that. Which was rather easy since
those were the base sources I was working with anyway. It at
least showed that the option I was fighting with was indeed
required... but I still have my base problem which is it
still won't build.

AFAIK all the needed dev libs are installed. The libpam items seem to
be looking for things which should be *in* libpam.a

Any suggestions are welcome. Could it be like the "old days" when
