If the user installs logcheck after he installed a package containing some files in /etc/logcheck/*.d/ it will just work. There are many examples where this is done already, eg /usr/lib/menu/, /etc/devfs/*.d, /etc/X11/Xsession.d, /etc/emacs/site-start.d, /etc/ppp/ip-{up,down}.d, /etc/network/if-pre-up.d, /etc/network/if-up.d, /etc/network/if-down.d, /etc/network/if-post-down.d, /etc/logrotate.d, /etc/apm/resume.d, /etc/apm/suspend.d, /etc/apm/event.d. $ (echo /usr/lib/menu; find /etc/ -name \*.d)|xargs du -c says 516k here, not that much really, and not worth any complicated handling by dpkg. ciao, 2ri, who didn't have germknödel with much butter and poppy for a long time ... ;) -- The light at the end of the tunnel is the headlight of an approaching train.
