Nice to hear you're both interested in the package.

Indeed being a DD is not required to be able to maintain the package,
I can review the changes and perform the sponsor for you. I usually
try to reply back within 7 days but sometimes I take longer, feel free
to ping me after 7 days if you don't get a reply once you have your
changs ready for review.

And also, feel free to remove the previous Uploader and leave only
yourself in it, I don't think Philippe is inactive but also he might
not be interested in maintaining the package (if Philippe replies
asking to be kept as the maintainer, then you can just add yourself
in).

I haven't had a look at the upstream changes, but I'm assuming that
there's nothing which could block the package from being reintroduced.
It can become a bit complex if there's too many new dependencies or a
lot of behavioral changes, but should be doable.
