Not yet. Although I assume that it will not going to happen, as he is 
not wiling to liberate the code, that is a question that I will 
definitively ask, among other improvements (including signing the 
"tarball", uscan friendly distribution, etc.)

IMHO, it is the ultimately reason.

I wish it was a free as in freedom software instead a free.

The number of users is already big (it is a top 10 security tool),
and the packaging itself is something that I will be able to handle. :)
