Re: Opinions for in person meeting / sprint beginning of next year

Dear all.

I've reached out to a few people in Dundee and we think we should be able to accommodate (I can steer but I definitely need local backup !). We will look at dates in Mid Feb, to allow any FOSDEM flu fallout to resolve itself.

I'm also trying to find out about potential dates for an in-person meeting of the Scottish Research Software Engineers group (a regional section of the UK-RSESoc). I'd love it if we could pursuade a few of those participants to stay for the sprint!

Jim.

Hi folks,

as always we want to do an in-person meeting sprint in the beginning of
next year.  Do we have volunteers to organise such a meeting.  As
usually we need a room for about 10 (maybe 15) participants with good
internet connection at some location that has sensible connections to
travel from mostly inside Europe participants. We usually meet at end of
January or in February.  The last years we always met in Berlin (thanks
to Sascha) which is a nice venue but some change would be great.

I would *really* welcome to open the sprint for other scientific blends
(thus Debian Science list in CC).  Unfortunately my first attempt to
find some alternative place I started in end of September with the
suggestions Kiel and Barcelona faded out without any decision.  To say
it clearly:  I will not do the organisation of next years sprint but I
will happily joing as always.

I think we wait until beginning of December.  If we do not have any
sensible offer I hope Sasche can find the usual agreement with his
employer.

See you
   Andreas.
