Dear all,we have used a very nice easy to learn fitting tool with python called kafe2:
https://kafe2.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ and https://github.com/dsavoiu/kafe2The advantage is that it can handle xy-errors at the same time which is not provided directly by the standard python scipy package.
We are in good contact to the developers of the source and since I'm not an official debian developer I have some expericenes in packaging. Nevertheless I guess that creating a package should not be so complicated ...
