According to our dependency chain, they are built upon blas and lapack.
That means the blas64 / lapack64 work is a prerequisite.

Certainly we haven't packaged (or thought to package) petsc64.

But of course it is an option if there is demand for it.

As Mo says, we'd want blas64 / lapack64 settled in before commencing.
